Stop The Wait RI is a 501(c)(4) organization whose mission is to Amplify parent voices, build community power, and successfully advocate for the conditions that will create the best educational landscape for our children.

  • Our children are missing opportunities to get on a path to a better life. Public charter schools offer parents a choice to help their children have access to the high-quality education they deserve. In 2021 a bill was fast-tracked in the General Assembly to prevent any public charter school from expanding -- thus leaving children behind and taking away school choice from the very people who have been on waiting lists. Parents are desperate for their children to have a chance by attending these high-quality schools.

    We created Stop The Wait RI to lead a grassroots advocacy campaign to educate the public about why these public charter schools are so important, and to empower parents to take their fight to the ballot box!
